P226 DA/SA and DAO
- Hogue P226 grips will fit 9mm, 357SIG, or .40 cal pistols.
- For optimum performance of an older SIG P226 with Hogue Grips it is recommended that the trigger return spring be replaced with the "new" style spring which is available from SIG. SIG redesigned the 226 frame in the mid 1990s and the new pistols come with a redesigned trigger return spring. SIG encourages the use of this new spring on older guns.
- Your new Hogue Grip is designed to work with both the old and new frame and spring styles, however, the new spring works better under certain conditions. For this reason it is recommended that you use the new style spring for duty use or any other use in which maximum reliability is necessary.
- Sig Sauer made a change to their P226 Elite Stainless frames at the bottom of the frame. The wood, aluminum and G10 grips can be modified if we do not have a current revision in stock. Please call Customer Service to order a grip indicating the revision needed. Revision D for our wood grips and Revision K for our aluminum and G10 grips and revision E for our rubber grips accommodate the SIG P226 Stainless Elite frames.
- Grip screws should be torqued to 13-15 inch lbs. Blue loctite is suggested on the threads. A quality correct fitting 3/32" hex / Allen or slot driver is a must!
- Hogue rubber grips marked with "rev. E" and wood manufactured after Sept. 2004 will fit on both standard pistols and DAK double action only pistols.
- Hogue grips will fit 226 E2. Remove the E2 grips to expose the screw holes. You must purchase grips screws in addition to the new grips. This retrofits the 226 E2 back to standard 226 grip dimensions
- For P226 SAO models, see the P226 X Series page
- For X-Five, X-Six, X-Five Competition and X-Five Tactical Models see P225 gun model. The part number's for these models will have a 0,2,4 or 5 in the fourth digit. The newest version of the x series has a different mainspring retainer. Due to this, our grip will interfere and not fit. We are currently working on a new design to accommodate this. You can tell the new X series by the magazine well having a screw that attaches it to the mainspring housing.
- The G-10 grips are being produced for the Newer X-5 series and will fit the older X-5 series. The aluminum grips are currently only made for the older X-5 series.
- LDC - Long Dust Cover - lower portion of the gun frame extend to the full length of the slide. This version will not work with the Holster line for the 226 series.
- LDC II - Has extended mainspring retainer for magwell. For our grips to fit this will need to be replaced with a standard P226 mainspring retainer.
- Will fit Sig MK25 (Navy)
- Will fit P226 TacOps model, it is a standard DA/SA frame with a beavertail
- Standard Grips Will NOT fit the Legion series pistols due to low profile controls. Contour Classic Grips will fit Legion Series.
- Will NOT fit models with Low Profile controls, i.e. the 'Select'.
- P226 X-Five Allaround has its own set of grips. We do not offer a modification to our standard grips at this time.
