  • Stock is a Free float barrel design, fitting may be required on some rifles for a true free float. The forend tip is the most common fit spot and the stock was designed for ease of fitting.
  • barrel channel is for a free float fit with a "A" barrel size (sporter barrel). The smaller/lighter barrels, "Ultralite" will show more float or gap around barrel, but will function fine.

  • Pillar bedded version weight 2lbs 8ozs
  • overall length of stock is 31 1/2 inches
  • Comb/Drop as measured from center line of the barrel is 1/2" down at the nose and 1/2" down at the heel. With a 13 3/4" LOP.
  • Will not fit the Ruger 77/22 rimfire rifle of any caliber.
  • Will not fit the Ruger 77/357 or 77/44. Action is different.

  • The Hogue stock will fit the 338 mag. barrel, it just will not free float. Barrel channel in stock can be enlarged.
  • The barrel channel contour can be fit / re-cut to a given barrel contour. The easiest method to remove rubber or plastic is with a Dremel tool using a sanding drum installed. Use 4-6 plus layers of masking tape to protect the external stock surfaces that are NOT to be sanded. Work slow and check progress often. The material can not be put back once removed.
  • Stock is "drop-in" design. However, if glass bedding is desired, the internal hard plastic surfaces can be roughed up to provide good adhesion in critical bedding areas. Best results will be obtained using Full-length aluminum bed block stock versions. Sanded aluminum will provide an excellent adhesion surface for epoxies and bedding compounds. The stock's external rubber surface will bond poorly to epoxies, but is irrelevant to the internal hard plastic action contact surfaces.
  • Recommended Torque 55-65 IN/LBS
