Model 98 style rifles
- Drop in fit for “sporterized” M98 large ring Mauser and Czech-made Mauser VZ 24.
- Will expressly drop-in fit virtually all M98 trigger mechanisms factory or aftermarket with no modifications.
- Barrel channel will free float most #2-#3 taper barrels. Stock channel measures 1.180" at receiver and .820" at tip of fore-end. Rubber lined barrel channel can be easily enlarged for larger barrels or to fit military stepped barrels.
- Comb/Drop as measured from center line of the barrel is 5/8" down at the nose and 1/2" down at the heel. With a 13 3/4" LOP.
- Stock relieved for bent down or bent down and swept back bolt handles. Straight military bolt handles will also function in stock.
- Designed with hidden cutout for sliding style side safety. Gap will not show on rifles with common wing style bolt safety but can be easily modified to accommodate side safeties.
- Floor-plate cutout for shorter FN floor-plates without lock screw on front tang. Rubber can be easily cut with rotary burr or sharp hobby knife to accommodate longer style front tangs.
- Floor-plate inlet relieved for push-button style hinging box magazine door.
- Screw hole spacing is 7 13/16" center to center.(floor plate/trigger guard screws)
- The diameter of the receiver ring at the front is 1.410"
- will fit FN Mark X or FN400 action with modification to external surface around large flat side safety lever. Rubber is thicker there for such change.
- can be modified to fit "Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895". Requires moderate/high level of skill/effort including relocating front pillar and filling several gaps.
- Will not fit M96
- Will not fit M48 (short action) e.g. Yugo-Mauser, without mpdification and special insert availabel from PowerSpeed HgmbH
- On some Alexandra Interarms Mark X's, the trigger safety bar will hit the cross bar support right in front of trigger. A notch can be made to clear safety bar.
- Stock is "drop-in" design. However, if glass bedding is desired, the internal hard plastic surfaces can be roughed up to provide good adhesion in critical bedding areas. Best results will be obtained using Full-length aluminum bed block stock versions. Sanded aluminum will provide an excellent adhesion surface for epoxies and bedding compounds. The stock's external rubber surface will bond poorly to epoxies, but is irrelevant to the internal hard plastic action contact surfaces.
- Recommended Torque 55-65 IN/LBS
